ACIS, based in the UK, has been awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the Innovation category for its development of the use of GPS (Global Positioning System) satellites for the control of public transport. The system monitors the position of buses along their routes and changes traffic lights to green when it detects a bus behind schedule, thus allowing it to regain lost time. Intelligent Bus Priority.
