Objectives

It was the intention of WITS to concretise the plans of an user centre in regards of technical content and to structure those based upon the input of user requirements in order to make the best and earliest possible use of a future market potential.

Features

The main topic of WITS was to integrate the future basic technologies communication, navigation and remote sensing into their supposable development and to develop scenarios in terms of value-added services. The strategy resulting therefrom will be the practical conversion of the user centre. This has been recommended by organisations in the domain of economic development as well as and concretised through respective research and development. Based upon those inputs and further suggestions up to pilot projects verifying the proposals, following plan has been developed.

Main Benefit

In the context of WITS, a 7-article-plan has been suggested:

  1. Formation of the corporation "Galileo Innovationsoffensive Bayern e.V."
  2. Creation of the appropriate basic conditions to establish a new partner in the domain of SatNav associated work in Bavaria.
  3. Development of a communication platform: to include or extend information databases already existing into a Bavarian network
  4. Development of a centre of technology
  5. Imposition of a technology and application programme lead by the Galileo education and research network
  6. Training
  7. Development of a focused and probably certified training programme

Project Status

Successfully completed in December 2003.
