TeleStar Observatory

TeleStar Observatory is situated in Dietramszell-Linden, about 40 km south of Munich in the foothills of the Alps. At an elevation of 750 m there are quite often clear skies and the country side offers an observation environment with only little light pollution. Core of TeleStar Observatory is a 2.6 m dome installed by Baader Planetarium in early summer 2004.

Main instruments are a Celestron C8 and an Astro Physics 105 “Traveller”, both mounted on a common plate on a Celestron CGE mount which can be remotely controlled via a desktop computer. For astrophotography mostly a Canon EOS 10D as well as a ToU Cam are in operation.
